Greetings.
As members of the Goldsboro/Wayne Branch NAACP, we share a proud legacy of advocacy, service, and the ongoing pursuit of justice and equality for all. The strength of our branch has always depended on the commitment, involvement, and support of its members.
Today, I am writing to encourage each of us to renew our dedication to the mission of the NAACP by becoming more actively engaged in the work of our branch and in the life of our community.
The challenges facing our community continue to be significant. Issues such as educational equity, economic opportunity, voting rights, healthcare access, public safety, and social justice require vigilant advocacy and collective action. The NAACP remains one of the most effective organizations in addressing these concerns, but our impact is only as strong as the participation of our members.
Membership is more than paying annual dues. It is a commitment to action. We need members who are willing to attend meetings, serve on committees, support branch programs, participate in voter education and civic engagement efforts, mentor young people, and advocate for policies that improve the quality of life for all residents of Wayne County.
Every member has talents, skills, and experiences that can contribute to our success. Whether you can volunteer a few hours each month, assist with community outreach, help organize events, or simply share information with friends and neighbors, your involvement makes a difference.
As we look toward the future, we must continue building a branch that is visible, responsive, and engaged. Together, we can strengthen our voice, expand our influence, and ensure that the NAACP remains a powerful force for positive change in our community.
I encourage you to attend our upcoming meetings, participate in branch activities, and invite others to join in our efforts. Let us work together to honor the sacrifices of those who came before us while creating opportunities for future generations.
Thank you for your membership, your support, and your commitment to the ideals of the NAACP. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we continue the important work of advancing justice, equality, and opportunity for all.
In the Spirit of Freedom and Justice,
John Barnes
