The Education Committee of the NAACP is committed to ensuring that every student — especially students of color and those from underserved communities — has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for college, careers, leadership, and lifelong success.

We believe every child deserves:

Our mission is to help eliminate educational inequities and expand opportunities so that all students can thrive academically, socially, and professionally while becoming empowered contributors to their communities and our democracy.

Our Focus Areas

Increasing Resource Equity

Advocating for fair funding, updated materials, technology access, and educational support for students and schools with the greatest needs.

Ensuring College & Career Readiness

Helping students prepare for success after graduation through academic achievement, mentorship, career exploration, scholarships, and leadership development.

Improving Teaching

Supporting and encouraging strong, diverse, and highly qualified educators, particularly in underserved and historically marginalized communities.

Improving Student Discipline

Promoting fair and restorative discipline practices that keep students engaged in learning, reduce unnecessary suspensions, and create positive school climates.

The Education Committee works collaboratively with parents, educators, students, community leaders, and schools to create meaningful change and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
